Broken windows at Our Lady of the Waves

Vandals have attacked Cardinal Keith O’Brien’s intended retirement home in the wake of the Pope ordering him to leave Scotland.

Police launched an investigation after four windows at Our Lady of the Waves RC Church and adjoining house were smashed.

The incident happened sometime overnight between Wednesday, May 15, and Thursday, May 16 - after the Vatican announced that the Cardinal was to undertake several months of “spiritual renewal, prayer and penance” in agreement with the Pope.
