Disgraced former MP, Cyril Smith was a regular visitor to a guest house in Barnes, London which is now at the centre of Operation Fernbridge; set up in the wake of the Jimmy Savile Inquiry.
It is not known if there are any specific allegations relating to Smith’s sexual behaviour during visits to the guest house but activities at both establishments are now currently being investigated by the Metropolitan Police and have led to two arrests today.
Two former residents of the Grafton Close Care Home in Richmond, south-west London claim that they were taken to Amsterdam and sexually abused including being ‘spanked’ in brothels during the 1970s and 1980s as well as being taken to Elm Guest House in Barnes where they were rented out to paying customers.
Lists of visitors to the home, which is now closed, are believed to include a number of senior MPs, a high-ranking policeman, a leading tycoon, figures from the National Front and Sinn Fein, an official of the Royal Household, an MI5 officer, two pop stars and the traitorous Soviet spy Anthony Blunt.
Elm View is said to have been visited by many people prominent in British politics during the 70s and 80s; including Smith.
The guest house manager, Carole Kasir died in what are described as ‘suspicious circumstances’ in 1983. She is believed to have earned large sums of money by letting out rooms where child pornography could be viewed and vulnerable, underage boys could be abused by paedophiles.
Evidence presented at Kasir’s inquest, two child protection workers and a private detective told the court that they believed that Kasir feared for her own life because of what she knew’ and cast doubt on the authenticity of ‘suicide notes’ left by her, but after several adjournments the coroner ruled that she had taken her own life.
In October of last year, Tom Watson MP spoke in Parliament, alleging evidence of child abuse by senior Tories.
Police are believed to be pursuing a number of leads following raids on the home of a former child protection worker a month ago.
Two men, aged 66 and 70, were arrested in raids at their homes in Norfolk and East Sussex today in connection with the case.
Anyone with further information is urged to contact Operation Fernbridge on 020 7161 0500.
