Pastor Indicted for Alleged Sodomy

The pastor of a New Albany Church is in trouble in Louisville.

"There are questions all over the place, all over the body of the church," Pastor Isrom Johnson said in videotaped sermon posted on his church's website.

There are now plenty of questions surrounding the 33-year-old charismatic preacher, who regularly fills the pews of the Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church in New Albany.

"They come by wanting to know if they can help you cook dinner or wash your dishes, rake the yard. I mean, they are just excellent people," Steve Fore said of the members of the church, which is located two doors from his home.

"They fill the place up," Phyllis Pound, who lives across the street said. "It's a pretty busy place. There are lots of children."

The Jefferson County Grand Jury this week, accused of sodomizing a boy under the age of 14 multiple times between March of 2009 and March of last year.

It's not the first time Johnson has been accused of harming children.

He was arrested in December 2004 for allegedly sexually abusing and sodomizing teens he met through his ministry work at the time.

In early 2005, the grand jury refused to indict him on those charges.

Johnson began work as the Pastor of Prince of Peace Church the next year and also is listed as President of Advancing the Kingdom Ministries, a Kentucky non-profit organization.

Neighbors believe the man of God down the street might not be who they thought he was either.

"It's a shame some people are taking advantage of other people when they're supposed to be helping," said Fore.

"They're supposed to preach about God. They're not supposed to do things like that," Pound said.

We attempted to contact Johnson and left a message at his home, but didn't hear back from him.
