Betsy Salkind is a gifted and talented entertainer, comedian ad writer. In the past she was a staff writer for the “Roseanne” and also “Saturday Night Special”. Betsy has also appeared on Girls’ Night Out, The Tonight Show and SHOWTIME’s Fierce Funny Women. Betsy has also been a long time activist for survivors of sexual abuse with her work with the National Association to Protect Children, and was also instrumental in changing the laws in California to offer equal protection to children sexually abused by family members.

Recently, Betsy Salkind’s published her newest book “More Than Once Upon a Time”, which I personally believe should be on everyone’s must read list. As usual, Betsy has a very unique way of educating the public about childhood sexual abuse and the struggles many adult survivors cope with on a daily basis.

Salkind uses her child like drawings and text to expresses her experiences, views and knowledge in a very clear and sysinct fashion -- and can be used as an eye opener to adults who want to live their lives in denial regarding the ramifications child sexual abuse can play in the lives of those who have been victimized.

Wendy J. Murphy, CBS News Legal Analyst stated: "More Than Once Upon a Time” is a dark and empowering tale of abuse and recovery. Betsy Salkind writes in the voice of a child but with the perspective of an adult, about a topic kids can't possibly comprehend when they're little. This is what makes the book so brilliant. It imagines what children would say, if they could - in language blissfully free of the multi-syllabic stuff we tend see in adult books that try to accomplish in hundreds of pages what this book does in a couple dozen".

One survivor who read the book, jokingly suggested that you send a copy of the book to your perpetrator for a holiday gift.

All I can say is thank you Betsy, you’ve done it again!
