Langworthy Rejects Sex Crimes Plea Deal

Another delay in an ongoing case involving a former music minister accused of sexually abusing boys.
Prosecutors offered John Langworthy a plea deal but that's no longer on the table.
But Langworthy did not accept it.
Now prosecutors say they are ready to go trial.
Today during a court hearing the judge set a January trial date for Langworthy.
But that may not happen.
Next month a judge will hear a motion to dismiss the charges in the against the former Morrison Heights Baptist church music minister and ex-music instructor at Clinton High school.
Attorneys for Langworthy argue the statue of limitations expired on the on crimes in the 1980s.
The trial has been delayed several times, but circuit court judge Bill Gowan said there will be no more continuances.
Langworthy has been indicted on eight counts of gratification of lust. If convicted he faces up to 80 years in prison.
There are 5 victims. The charges are from the 1980s. At the time Langworthy was a student at Mississippi College.
If convicted on all charges, Langworthy faces up to 80 years in prison.
