Charged Pastor Not Part of Outpost Ministries

Pastor Ryan Muehlhauser, 55, was charged with eight felony counts of criminal sexual conduct on Monday.

He is accused of abusing two young men who had sought out the member of the clergy to help them with personal issues.

The first victim told authorities that he met Muehlhauser in October of 2010 at a Called of Darkness event sponsored by Outpost Ministries.

On the Outpost Ministries website it states that one of its functions as an organization is to assist individuals who want to break away from the gay lifestyle.

In a statement given to KARE 11 on Friday, a spokesman for Outpost Ministries said:

"Outpost Ministries is deeply grieved over the allegations regarding Ryan Muehlhauser. Outpost fundamentally stands against sexual abuse and exists, in part, to minister to those who have been wounded by such violence. Ryan is not and has never been a member of Outpost staff nor was he a pastor to whom we referred clients. We continue to stand with the two young men who experienced this atrocity and we desire to help them in any way we are able. Our sorrow and our prayers go out to all who have been sexually violated. "
