Sarasota Ministry Worker Convicted of Child Sex Charges, Police Say

A Sarasota man who said he worked for a ministry has been convicted in a child sex case, the Sarasota Police Department said. Joe Harrison Jr., 42, was found guilty Monday of three counts of sexual battery on a child and one count of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child. Harrison is scheduled to be sentenced April 30. Harrison said he was a bishop for Liberty Central Ministries International. At the time of his arrest, he listed his home address in the 1000 block of Four Seasons Circle in Sarasota.
