Dr. Avinash Jedhav, an orthopedic surgeon, is suing the University of Missouri and is seeking $15 million in punitive damages in the lawsuit. Allegedly, he was hired to work at Fitzgibbons Hospital in Marshall, MO with the understanding he would take over a caseload of the current resident orthopedic surgeon there. But, it never happened. The hospital wasn’t large enough to support two orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Jedhav further alleged that the university tried to ruin his career, according to the lawsuit. . .KTRS’ J.C. Corcoran: “Speaking in St. Louis over the weekend, Rick Santorum said he supports the concept of Daylight Savings Time. A few years ago, he said he turned his clock back an hour and enjoyed it so much he didn’t stop until he had it all the way back to 1955?. . .Heading for Rush Limbaugh’s turf, GOPer Mike Huckabee will launch his talk show in April through the Radio group Cumulus Media. Cumulus is using the slogan, “more conversation, less confrontation,” in its pitch. . .Our local New York Times stringer Malcolm Gay has wordsmithed about last week’s ruling by Judge Bryan Hettenbach for St. Stan’s and against Archbishop Robert Carlson. “We got really the best,” says Rev. Marek Bozek. “There is not one change in our status quo as a result of the ruling”. . .In the current issue of The Advocate, actor Omar Sharif, Jr. comes out as being gay, having a Jewish mother and speaks of his grandad, actor Omar Sharif. Junior left his native Egypt last May and is now living in the U.S.
