The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland released the Diocesan Report to the Community Sunday.

Copies of the report were handed out in churches Sunday morning.

According to Bob Tayek with the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, this is the first time there has been a public accounting of all the sales and merging of the churches involved in the reconfiguration of the Catholic Diocese.

Tayek summarized the report by saying, "the money follows the people."

According to the report, the sale of churches have brought in nearly $20 million over the past several years.

The diocese also announced what happened to some of the old church facilities in northeastern Ohio. St. Hedwig in Akron is part drug treatment center and part ministry center.

There will be a news conference at 10:30 a.m. Monday with Bishop Lennon to answer ongoing questions about church finances in light of the sales of closed churches and disposition of assets. We will carry a live feed of this event.
