HACKENSACK, N.J. — Two former employees at a northern New Jersey Roman Catholic high school have been indicted on charges of having sex with female students.

Artur Sopel and Michael Sumulikoski face multiple counts of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of children.

Prosecutors allege the incidents occurred during a Paramus Catholic High School trip to Germany last February. The two men acted as chaperones.

Thirty-one-year-old Sopel was the school's vice president of operations. Twenty-eight-year-old Sumulikoski was a substitute teacher and assistant football coach. Both men were suspended in March.

Sopel allegedly engaged in sexual activities with two students during the trip and a third student in 2010. Sumulikoski is accused of engaging in sexual activities with one student on the trip.

Lawyers for the men couldn't immediately be reached Wednesday.
