An inmate in a New York state prison says Fine, the former Syracuse basketball assistant coach, sexually abused him for years, beginning in 1969. Floyd VanHooser, a career criminal who is serving 16 years to life for burglary and petty larceny, says he was a 14-year-old kid when Fine, then a middle-school gym teacher, first molested him. VanHooser told sex-abuse victim advocate Robert Hoatson that he knows of other alleged victims, Hoatson told the Daily News on Thursday. “He said there are at least two others that he knows about,” said Hoatson, the founder of Road to Recovery, an organization that counsels sex-abuse victims.
