Anchorage detectives arrested a man Thursday for the alleged sexual abuse of two girls in his neighborhood, police said.
Leonardo "Nutbush" Lovette II faces eight counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of first-degree indecent exposure. Police say Lovette molested two neighbor girls -- one 5, the other 9 -- multiple times. One of the girls told a detective Lovette threatened to kill her if she said anything about the abuse, police said.
Detectives think Lovette may have had other victims. He served as an after-school tutor and had contact with children at a DeBarr Road church, police said. Anyone with further information is asked to call Detective Leonard Torres at 786-8573.
