A Dane County jury has acquitted a Madison priest of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl seven years ago.
Joseph Clauder, 65, was charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child. Clauder was part of the alleged victim's family by marriage.
The Madison diocese removed Clauder from his public role in 1999 after they learned about an inappropriate relationship he had with an adult woman.
