He attended Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, Ore., from 1998 to 2007. We are glad that Sacramento law enforcement acted quickly with Fr. Uriel Ojeda. We beg other victims to come forward. We would encourage Bishop Soto to personally visit every parish where Fr. Ojeda worked and seek out victims or witnesses there as well. Cases like these illustrate that this abuse is still taking place, and cannot be blamed on a specific generation or limited to a specific time period but rather on the rigid, secretive, all-male, hierarchy that continues to ignore and conceal sexual violence.
