Ryan Dee Whitaker, 58, a divorce attorney, was arrested Monday by Clark County sheriff's deputies on two counts each of rape in the first degree and child molestation in the first degree. According to a probable cause affidavit, the alleged sexual abuse occurred on several occasions between February and September of this year at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 9729 NE 50th Ave in Vancouver. The victim disclosed to her parents and a church bishop of the incidents. A witness also reported that he saw Ryan pay special attention to the victim, but declined to speak with investigators, the affidavit states. Whitaker was taken into custody at his law firm at 1220 Main St. #455 in Vancouver. He was arraigned in Clark County Court Wednesday. He is expected to make a plea at his next court appearance.
