	Independent Inquiry into Fr Reynolds RTE Libel Case Galway Bay November 22, 2011 http://www.galwaynews.ie/22836-independent-inquiry-fr-reynolds-rte-libel-case The Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte has announced an independent inquiry into the case of Father Kevin Reynolds who was defamed by RTE's Prime Time programme. Minister Rabbitte today requested the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland Compliance Committee to use its powers under the Broadcasting Act to determine whether RTE has met its statutory responsibilities around objectivity, impartiality and fairness. He has asked that the Committee conclude it's report and make recommendations within two months. Earlier today the Ahascragh parish priest said people at the heart of decision-making in RTE should face the consequences of broadcasting false accusations against him.
