	Oireachtas Investigation Called for after Ahascragh Priest Defamed Galway Bay November 21, 2011 http://www.galwaynews.ie/22797-oireachtas-investigation-called-after-ahascragh-priest-defamed An independent Senator is calling on the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Communications to investigate the recent defamation of an Ahascrasgh priest by RTÉ. Senator Rónán Mullen has written to the Chairperson of the Committee to request a "thorough investigation into the facts and circumstances" relating to Fr. Kevin Reynolds' case. Last week, RTÉ settled a High Court defamation case taken by Fr. Reynolds for an undisclosed sum. It followed the broadcast of false allegations about the priest in a Primetime programme last May.
