Mounties Investigate Abuse Allegations at Bible School The Inews880 November 20, 2011 http://www.inews880.com/Channels/Reg/LocalNews/story.aspx?ID=1574785 Police in Central Alberta say they're assessing whether there should be an investigation into sexual abuse allegations at a bible college. The Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, near Calgary, says the allegations were made by people connected with the college and date back several decades. It has posted a statement on its website that those involved are no longer there. The statement says the college brought a file containing the allegations to the RCMP and has promised full co-operation. Police say their involvement is in the very early stages. Prairie Bible Institute was founded in 1922 when its founder taught the Bible to eight local farm children. It later grew to include a ministry for mission preparation, a technical college and an aviation school. (The Canadian Press, ph) |
