Syracuse, NY - Advocates of clergy sex abuse victims are planning a demonstration on the Syracuse University campus Monday in support of the accusers of SU associate basketball coach Bernie Fine.

The Rev. Robert Hoatson said he and at least two members of his Road to Recovery organization plan to be on campus in a demonstration of solidarity with step-brothers Bobby Davis and Michael Lang.

"Bobby and Mike came forward because they are seeking justice. They want to be heard, not condemned," Hoatson stated in a press release this afternoon. The demonstration is scheduled to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Waverly and South Crouse avenues, he said.

Davis is claiming Fine sexually molested him for years, from the time he was 12 or 13 and a ball boy at SU to when he was 28. The story broke nationally Thursday when Davis again made his claims to ESPN and Lang came forward to claim he, too, had been a victim.

Fine, placed on administrative leave, has denied the allegations. The District Attorney's Office and the Syracuse Police Department are conducting investigations.

Hoatson is a suspended priest from New Jersey who founded Road to Recovery as a non-profit charity for victims of clergy abuse. He said he expects to be joined on campus Monday by two sexual abuse survivors who are members of the New York Coalition to Protect Children.

Hoatson said other sexual abuse survivors from the Syracuse area and members of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) have also been invited to attend.

Hoatson today said he has tried to contact Davis and Lang to invite them to attend as well, but has not heard back from them.
