Four Indicted in Child Sex Assault Case KRDO November 16, 2011 http://www.krdo.com/news/29796849/detail.html
Four people have been arrested in connection to a child sex assault case. In December of 2010, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible sexual assault on a child involving a teacher at the Hilltop Baptist School. Investigation revealed a 15-year-old male victim was sexually assaulted multiple times by a teacher during 2007. In February of 2011, search warrants were obtained and executed at the school and the home of the teacher. After a lengthy investigation, late Wednesday, the grand jury handed down indictments on 4 suspects in the case.
32-year-old Terah Allyn Rawlings is charged with 4 counts of Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust-Pattern of Abuse, which is a class 3 felony. She is also charged with 4 counts of Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust, a class 4 felony, and Obscenity-Promotion a class 2 misdemeanor. She was arrested on November 16, 2011 and has posted a $25,000 bond. 63-year-old Wayne Knight was also arrested and charged with Failure to Report Child Abuse and Accessory to a Crime. He has posted a $2,000 bond. Two others were arrested and charged with Failure to Report Child Abuse or Neglect. 57-year-old Raymond "Allen" Knight, and 51-year-old Jan Ocvirk each have a $300 bond. Pictures of those arrested are included underneath this article. Rawlings was a teacher at Hilltop Baptist School. She is the daughter of Raymond Allen Knight, the Associate Pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church and the former Athletic Director of Hilltop Baptist School. In addition, she is the niece of Wayne Knight, the Senior Pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church and the former Superintendent of Hilltop Baptist School.
Jan Ocvirk is the former principal of Hilltop Baptist School. In January, Target 13 learned about a possible suspect in the case. The teacher was alleged to have had a relationship for the past 2 1/2 years with an underage male student, starting when he was 15 years old. At that time, the teacher's name was not released because no charges were filed against her. Two unnamed sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told TARGET 13 in January that the teacher is related to one of the school’s administrators. Both sources claimed the school covered up the inappropriate relationship until a staff member, who did not have permission from the school, called the sheriff’s office. The school closed in 2011 due to declining enrollment. This is an ongoing investigation and due to the nature of the crimes, the victim information will not be released.
