Police: Former Assistant Principal Confessed to Assaulting Teens By Natalie Caula ABC News 4 November 1, 2011 http://www.abcnews4.com/story/15918760/former-assistant-principal-arrested-and-accused-of-child-molestation
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) – Friday Darkness to Light, an organization aimed at child sexual abuse awareness, was at Coastal Preparatory School. Members were speaking to teachers and students for a routine awareness event. Administrators say they had no idea their own upper school assistant principal would soon be behind bars, accused of sexual molestation. Police say Louis "Skip" ReVille, 32, confessed to sexually assaulting three teenagers. Coastal Christian Preparatory School board chair Brent Egan said none of the alleged victims are students at his school. "The charges that have been brought forth occurred at a time prior to his time at Coastal Preparatory School and to our knowledge did not involve any of our students or families," Egan said. Egan said ReVille was hired last year and the entire school and church community are shocked. ReVille was arrested Friday and charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of lewd acts on a minor. "Certainly all of us associated with the school and church are absolutely devastated by the news," Egan said. Now, police are looking at trying to figure out how many potential victims there could be. ReVille coached sports teams with Mount Pleasant Recreation. He also coached Bishop England High School's tennis team for three seasons, according to the Catholic Diocese of Charleston spokeswoman Maria Aselage. "While he was the coach at Bishop England, there were no complaints against him," Aselage said. According to a SLED background check, ReVille had a clean record. For now, ReVille remains behind bars with a nearly $700,000 bond. According to Egan, ReVille has been "relieved of his duties" at Coastal Christian Preparatory School. The headmaster of Coastal Christian Preparatory School will have a closed door meeting with parents tomorrow. Representatives from Darkness to Light are expected to be in attendance. Mount Pleasant Police officials say it is anticipated additional charges will be filed as the case progresses. "As this case is still under investigation, the Mount Pleasant Police Department is asking the public's help with any information relative to the suspect or additional victims," Captain Stan Gragg said. Gragg says anyone with information should contact the Mount Pleasant Police Department at (843) 884-4176 or confidentially at Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111. Contact: ncaula@abcnews4.com |
