Bishop William Morris was asked to retire early in May after a liturgical dispute with the Catholic Church over comments he made about the ordination of women and married priests. An apostolic administrator has been appointed to oversee the diocese while a replacement is sought. One of the Bishop's supporters, Father Ray Crowley, says he does not expect a decision to be made swiftly. "There's a great shortage throughout Australia ... we have no idea, it could be next year some time unless they see it as a top priority to push it through," he said.
