Jose Feliciano walked into the courtroom handcuffed and never said a word during the proceedings.

During the trial on Monday the prosecution remained on the attack questioning emergency service workers who responded to St. Patrick's Church in Chatham, New Jersey on October 22, 2009.

Those responders said they found a lifeless Father Edward Hinds.

"We usually check that by checking the jaw and the arm, they were both stiff. Also, we checked body temperature, he was ashen and cold," said Chatham Borough EMT Joseph McCabe.

"It appears from looking at him he'd been stabbed with some sort of object," Kelly Zienowicz of the Morris County Sheriff's department responded when asked about the nature of the wounds.

The defense claimed Feliciano went into a homicidal rage stemming from a sexual relationship he had with Hinds.

Prosecutors said Feliciano murdered Hinds because he knew that he was getting fired after the priest found out about an alleged sex crime involving a child.

The prosecution played three 911 calls made from Hinds' cell phone.

On those recordings you hear:

Dispatcher : 911. Where is your emergency?

Voice : (inaudible)

Dispatcher : Washington Avenue?

Dispatcher : Hello? Hello?

When dispatchers tried to call back the cell phone one call went to voice mail and a second call was answered by Feliciano, prosecutors said.

On that recording you hear:

Voice : Hello?

Dispatcher : This is the State Police. You called 911 do you have an emergency?

Voice : Oh no thank you. (inaudible)

Dispatcher : No?

Voice : Oh no, thank you.

Dispatcher : alright

The defense did not do much cross examination of the witnesses Monday.

Much of the evidence presented went on record without their objection.
