	Defamed Ahascragh Priest Welcomed Back to Parish Galway Bay Fm October 9, 2011 http://www.galwaynews.ie/22010-defamed-ahascragh-priest-welcomed-back-parish Fr Kevin Reynolds received a standing ovation as he was welcomed back to his ministry in Saint Cuan's Church in Ahascragh this morning by Bishop of Elphin, Dr Christopher Jones. The priest had been obliged to step aside from his ministry after an RTE Primetime Investigations programme broadcast last May, which claimed he had raped a girl in Kenya and fathered her child in 1982. Fr. Reynolds had consistently denied the allegations and last Thursday, RTE unreservedly apologised for broadcasting what it said were baseless, untrue allegations without foundation. Bishop Jones praised Father Reynolds for his courage, strength and resilience and stated that he had carried his cross with great dignity. The mass was also attended by Fr. Anthony Chantry, Super General of the Mill Hill Community and Fr. Michael Corcoran of the Mill Hill Missionaries in Ireland.
