Priest Monterey Herald September 22, 2011 http://www.montereyherald.com/state/ci_18955514 SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.—Two brothers have filed civil lawsuits against the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino alleging molestation by a priest who pleaded guilty to a sex-related charge earlier this year. The lawsuits naming the Rev. Alejandro Jose Castillo were announced Thursday at a news conference in front of the Our Lady of Guadalupe school in Ontario. Castillo was sentenced earlier this month to a year in prison and must register as a sex offender upon release. The 58-year-old priest pleaded guilty in April to a single felony charge of lewd and lascivious acts with a child. Prosecutors said he was pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ontario when he molested the boy in late 2008. The lawsuits were filed by the victim in that case and his brother.
