Pastor Ante Madunic from Prolozac Donji (Split-Dalmatia County) has sent some 22,000 text messages over seven months to underage girls soliciting sex.
Madunic will not face charges for having sex with underage girls as the current penal code does not consider intercourse with a child aged 14 and over an offence. The pastor will, however, be tried on charges of using his position of authority to obtain sexual services. At the time of the offences, he was the religious studies teacher of some of the girls involved in the case.
Madunic admitted to having had sex with just two of the girls, one of whom confirmed his story. The other girl denied any involvement. The priest would pay them around 1,000 kunas (134 Euros) per encounter, with one of the girls receiving some 40,000 kunas (5,350 Euros) over the course of several months.
The priest sent lascivious text messages that often featured his erected penis to many other girls, daily Jutarnji List writes.
