Providence’s Roman Catholic Church is down one Westerly deacon. That’s because the head of the church has removed seventy year old Robert Alessio after he was accused of exposing himself to drivers on Interstate 95. State troopers arrested Alessio Friday after responding to a report of a man masturbating in the woods near the weight station on Exit 4 in Richmond. This makes him the second deacon to be arrested this month. Last week a former West Warwick deacon was arraigned on three counts of second degree child molestation.
