Here are some of the stories we’re working on today:

Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Dwight Duncan holds what has become a regular event during this election campaign – a Friday press conference involving “an important announcement.” Duncan will talk about community safety and correctional services for Southwest Ontario at the site of the new Windsor jail on the Eighth Concession.

NDP leader Andrea Horwath will make her own election announcement at 10 a.m. in Kingsville. She’ll be at George and Flo Dekkar’s farm on Seacliff Drive to talk about improving life for rural families. She will be joined by Taras Natyshak, NDP candidate for Essex.

The London lawfirm of LedroitBeckett is holding a press conference in Chatham to announce another lawsuit the firm has launched against a Catholic priest and the Diocese of London. Four former altar boys have accused former Tilbury priest Father Bernard Alphonse Robert (now deceased) of sexual abuse.

One mosquito pool in Windsor and one mosquito pool in LaSalle have tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to Medical Officer of Health Dr. Allen Heimann. This is the first sign of the virus in Windsor-Essex County this year.
