The case concerning the abuse of boys at St Joseph's Home in Santa Venera and economic matters were prominent in the front pages of Maltese newspapers on Tuesday.

The Times quotes the Prime Minister as saying that justice process took too long in the case concerning the sexual abuse of boys at the St Joseph’s Home in Santa Venera. It also states that a Vatican investigation into a fourth priest alleged to have been involved in the case remains pending.

The Malta Independent reports that the European Central Bank’s pledge to buy bonds is easing pressure on debt-laden Spain and Italy. Another story states that the Curia’s response team is investigating another priest over alleged sexual abuse in St Joseph’s Home.

L-Orizzont reports that Charles Muscat, who was released after serving two-thirds of his 25-year jail term for murder, spent only 9 years at the Corradino Correctional Facility, spending the rest at Mount Carmel Hospital.

In-Nazzjon, meanwhile, quotes a financial consultant who maintains that the Maltese are right to trust government’s efforts on the economy.
