  Priest Taken to Court over Mismanagement

The matter will be heard on the 23rd of this month.

A group of catholic nuns Tuesday moved to court to contest alleged malpractices in the management of St. Mary's Hospitals and Educational institutions.

The nuns, who are seeking legal redress under certificate urgency, are accusing a priest of illegally planning to take over the institutions.

It is a row that has fermented over time culminating into the court case; a disagreement pitting the assumption sisters of Nairobi and father William Charles Fryda over the management of the hospitals and associated educational institutions.

The Assumption sisters of Nairobi and the Regina Pacis university college moved to court through a certificate of urgency seeking an injunction restraining Father William from interfering with the management and operation of the said assets.

The plaintiffs allege that they have been sidelined by the said father in the day to day running of the institutions since 2009 contrary to the initial agreement that attendant at the beginning.

The matter will be heard on the 23rd of this month.

Meanwhile, a former Kenya envoy to Japan Peter Kihara Mathanjuki was on Tuesday charged with obtaining money through false pretense.

It is alleged that he committed the offence on diverse dates between 27th Jan 09 and 7th Sep 2010 at Loita house with intent to defraud David Matu Wahome of 6.5 million shillings.

He faces a separate count of forging a title deed and being in possession of a document resembling an identity card.

He denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of 200, 000 shillings. His case will be heard on 20th of September.
