A new report has been filed with police in relation to the very dirty (and very Hungarian) dirty priest scandal we reported on back in April. According to index.hu, the report alleges that Gyula Wolf (right), former financial director of the Pecs diocese, had burned some incriminating documents, and threatened former bishop Mihaly Mayer (left) in a further attempt to eliminate all evidence of wrongdoing.
The report also alleges that Wolf set himself to inherit a valuable house from a pensioner that had been receiving a Ft 90,000 (ˆ334) monthly allowance from the church. Wolf's attorney said the deal in question served the interests of the diocese.
The Kaposvar Police, which is leading the investigation, refused to reveal more details. Somehow we think this is not the last grubby such tidbit that will make its way out. Skanky!
