The Taoiseach has called on the Vatican to state clearly they accept that all cases of suspected abuse are reported here.
Enda Kenny says the Cloyne Report excavates the dysfunction, disconnection, and the elitism that dominates the Vatican today.
He said the report exposed an attempt by the Holy See to frustrate an inquiry into sexual abuse in a sovereign state.
He made the remarks during a Dail debate on an all-party motion condemning the role of the Vatican in child protection.
He said the pilgrim Church that has dominated Irish life needs to be a penitent church.
He also says there can be no fudging from the Vatican saying he wants a clear statement from the Holy See.û
