	Spokane Diocese in Mediation Talks over Sex Abuse Claims KXLY July 11, 2011 http://www.kxly.com/news/28515346/detail.html The Spokane Catholic Diocese and victims of priest sex abuse are meeting behind closed doors to settle sex abuse claims. Attorneys for the two sides are in mediation talks Monday and Tuesday. Nine insurance companies are also involved. The diocese is attempting to settle 33 new claims of sexual abuse that were filed after the diocese $48 Million bankruptcy settlement. The settlement included $1 Million for new allegations but court documents say the money is running out and the diocese is at risk of foreclosing on church property. This week's mediation also includes the Morning Star Boys Ranch. Two judges will decide if Morning Star should contribute money to a settlement.
