Corrections and Clarifications Irish Times July 5, 2011 http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/opinion/2011/0705/1224300089401.html An article in the edition of June 30th, relating to alleged sabotage of MV Saoirse II , the Irish ship bringing aid to Gaza, said that “Israel imposed a naval blockade after Hamas militants overran the Palestinian territory in 2007”. Hamas won the 2007 legislative elections in the Gaza strip. An article in last Saturday’s edition referred to Paul McGennis, who pleaded guilty to eight sample counts of indecent assault, as an ex-priest. In fact, he continues to be a priest but has been out of ministry since 1997. The Winslow Homer painting, the ownership of which is dispute referred to in an article in yesterday’s edition, was misnamed. It is “Children Under a Palm”. An article in the edition of June 24th, reported that Steve Jobs made a trip to IBM where he discovered its prototype for the mouse-based user interface. This trip, however, was to Xerox’s R&D facility in Palo Alto, not IBM’s. An article in the Property Supplement last Thursday made reference to the Irish Glass Bottle site in Inchicore. It is in Irishtown. Where errors occur, it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
