A priest has been arrested on charges of rape and murder of his 16-year-old domestic help in Hyderabad.
The domestic help of Ajay Babu died of serious burn injuries at the Guntur General Hospital.
A priest with the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church, Babu reportedly had sexual relations with the girl on the promise of marriage.
When she began pressing for marriage, he revealed that he was already married and has a child.
During a fight that followed, the police say, the priest, assisted by his wife, set the maid on fire.
However, Babu claimed that the teen set herself on fire and he was trying to rescue her when his hand got severely burnt.
