LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Jefferson County grand jury indicted a Louisville priest on seven felony sodomy charges for alleged sexual abuse in the 1970s. Father James Schook is charged with three counts of second degree sodomy and four counts of third degree sodomy.

Schook was temporarily removed from the ministry in July 2009 while serving as pastor of St. Ignatius Martyr Church on Rangeland Road. In March 2010, Schook's removal was made permanent.

Recently, Schook was at the center of a lawsuit against the Archdiocese which was dismissed. The plaintiff, Margie Weiter, alleged she was fired from her job as a bookkeeper at St. Therese Parish for complaining about Schook residing at there.

Weiter is appealing the ruling.
