A jury in Jamaica has cleared a New York-based Pentecostal faith healer of sexual abuse charges in the Caribbean island.

The jury deliberated just about two hours before acquitting the Rev. Paul Lewis. The minister wept as the judge read the verdict Monday.

The Jamaican-born Lewis was arrested in June 2009 after allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl and fondling her 14-year-old friend at a hotel. He was charged with carnal abuse and indecent abuse.

Lewis must return to court next week to face an obstruction of justice charge for allegedly offering money to one of the girls to change her story.

Lewis was born in Jamaica but moved to the U.S. as a child. His website identifies him as pastor for The Messengers for Christ World Healing Center in Brooklyn.
