A North York pastor is charged with sexually assaulting a woman who sought a prayer session.
Toronto Police sex crimes detectives are also concerned that the suspect, who is described on the church website as “an anointed chosen man of God,” has other victims.
Emmanuel Animodi, 45, who is on Facebook as Prophet Emmanuel Animodi, and is known to police for fraud, is charged with sexual assault.
A woman went to the Fire of Miracle Ministries church at 1270 Finch Ave. W., near Keele St., for a prayer session shortly after midnight Wednesday, police said.
Police allege it was during the session she was sexually assaulted.
The evangelical church website says that the pastor is licensed and is married with children.
“He is talented with prophetic utterance, a teacher of the gospel, an anointed pentecostal preacher, filled with the divine holy ghost (speaking in tongues according to the utterance) anointed spirit of deliverance,” the site states.
