He was arrested by the Met on behalf of Thames Valley Police, who are in charge of the investigation. The Church of England minister has now been suspended "without prejudice" by officials from the Diocese of Chelmsford. Police say the alleged offences occurred in east Berkshire and are not linked to his time as a minister in East London. Mr Hanson has been released on police bail until June 29. The Yard said: "A man of 63 was arrested in Beckton for inciting a child to engage in sexual activity offences."
