  Ex-Head of Northamptonshire School to Face Child Porn Charges at Crown Court

THE former headteacher of a Northamptonshire primary school, who is accused of child porn offences, will face a judge in crown court.

Terry Ladlow, 73, a church organist who was head at Great Doddington Primary School between 1975 and 1980, faces 24 charges of making and possessing images of child sexual abuse.

He is alleged to have downloaded 8,867 indecent images between April 2005 and March 2010.

He is also alleged to have possessed images in each of the five classification categories, including images of torture and rape.

Ladlow, now of North Yorkshire, wore a black suit yesterday and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during a brief hearing at Scarborough Magistrates' Court.

He has not yet entered a plea in relation to the charges.

Ladlow moved to Hunmanby in 2004 and became church organist at St Oswald's Church in Filey, Yorkshire, after a teaching career spanning 33 years. Ludlow began a career in primary school teaching at the age of 22 and spent 33 years in the profession in various parts of the country, including 20 years as a headteacher.

He was well-known for film-making work and created 10 educational documentaries which he sold to schools and the British Council.

He is also well known for his Yorkshire Heritage videos.

His recent projects included writing scores for silent movies and restoring historic films of Scarborough.

The Chronicle & Echo reported in June 1977 how Ladlow had set up a school cinema at Great Doddington Primary School using his own projector.

He is due to appear at York Crown Court on the morning of June 27 after being granted unconditional bail yesterday.
