LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A judge has dismissed a Louisville woman's lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Louisville on constitutional grounds.

Margie Weiter's suit had alleged she was wrongfully fired from her church bookkeeper's job last year.

She had objected to the assignment of Father James Schook, a priest accused of sexual abuse, to live at her parish, Saint Therese, in Germantown. Schook has since moved to another Archdiocese residence.

Circuit judge Mitch Perry ruled Monday the court had no jurisdiction in church disciplinary matters and that Weiter's employment was at-will.

Members of the church abuse survivors group SNAP said the dismissal "on a technicality" allows the Archdiocese to cover up sexual abuse cases.

The Archdiocese has said it followed proper procedures.

Weiter's attorney has not yet decided whether to appeal.
