	Former Buhl Youth Pastor Held in Louisiana for Alleged Child Sex Crimes By Blair Koch The Times-News April 21, 2011 http://www.magicvalley.com/news/local/west-end/article_df714204-6bca-11e0-bfd8-001cc4c03286.html A former youth pastor at Buhl's Calvary Assembly of God has been accused in Louisiana of committing more than 60 felony sex crimes against children. Angelo Deboray "Doogie" Golatt, a youth pastor at the Buhl church in 2006, faces 50 counts of aggravated rape, six counts of juvenile molestation, four counts sexual battery and two counts attempted aggravated rape. His alleged crimes happened between 2003 and 2007. Golatt, 28, has been held in Louisiana's Rapides Parish Jail on $480,000 bond since his March 29 arrest. In Louisiana, aggravated rape is defined as an adult participating in sexual intercourse with a victim younger than 13 years old, and is punishable by the death penalty or life in prison. In December 2006, Golatt was arrested in Jerome County on two counts of sexual abuse/exploitation of a vulnerable adult, and later pleaded guilty to a reduced battery charge. Jerome County Sheriff's Detective Rick Cowen said the sheriff's department issued a warrant for Golatt's arrest in September 2007 for a misdemeanor probation violation. Since the violation isn't a felony, the department couldn't extradite Golatt once he moved to Louisiana. Cowen said he is aware of an ongoing investigation into Golatt, but said no allegations have been made against him locally. "If there are victims or people out there with information, we urge them to contact the department," Cowen said. Rapides Parish Sheriff's Detective Steven Phillips told the Times-News that all alleged victims are males between the ages of 9 and 19, who knew Golatt from his time working as a youth leader for the Donahue Family Church in Pineville, La. Phillips said the charges have not yet been turned over to the parish's prosecuting attorney because the investigation is ongoing. Current Assembly of God Pastor David Royer wasn't the Buhl church's pastor when Golatt worked there, but said he will discuss the issue with the church's board. Assembly of God Southern Idaho District Superintendent Doyle Fulkes said a background check on Golatt would likely have been completed before he came to Buhl. But since Assembly churches operate as "sovereign bodies," the district doesn't keep those records. Fulkes said Golatt is not a certified pastor with the association. "Since he isn't credentialed with us, we wouldn't keep records on him, either," Fulkes said. Calls made to the Donahue Family Church were not returned.
