Lawyer Tells Glenside Parishioners Plaintiff Has No Case against Accused Monsignor By Shannon McDonald The Newsworks April 20, 2011 http://www.newsworks.org/index.php/the-feed/item/17768-lawyer-tells-glenside-parishioners-plaintiff-has-no-case-against-accused-monsignor Concerned parishioners of St. Luke's Evangelist gathered in the Glenside church Monday to hear from the lawyer representing their monsignor, who is one of 21 priests suspended by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for abuse allegations. Attorney Kate Reiley said there "is nothing there" in terms of the case. Monsignor Michael Flood is accused of molesting a student more than 15 times in 1976 while at South Philadelphia's Bishop John Neumann Catholic High School -- a blemish on an otherwise "exemplary" personnel file. The Glenside News Globe Times Chronicle reports Reiley is encouraging parishioners to let Flood know they support him. Reiley didn't know how long the investigation will keep Flood from the parish. |
