BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. — The trial in Sullivan County for a former Catholic priest accused of sexually abusing a child in his congregation more than three decades ago has been delayed.

Sullivan County Deputy District Attorney Barry Staubus told WHJL-TV in Johnson City that William Casey's trial would not go forward Monday. The station reported that new evidence will be discussed at a motions hearing on June 10 and the trial date is now set for July 11.

Warren Tucker of Jeffersonville, Ind., — who has gone public with his claims — has accused Casey of repeated rape beginning when Tucker was 10 years old. Tucker has testified that he did not come forward with the accusations sooner because he felt no one would believe him.

Casey has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
