Camp Good News has been all over those Internets lately, and rightfully so. It sems that some sort of monster was working there.

- At best, and I mean innocent-of-attacking-children best, an armed man was walking around crazy for a bunch of summers there.

- At worst, a serial child rapist was being fed a steady diet of hairless boys while he had a shotgun handy.

- The middle ground is that a child molester operated freely at Camp Good News for decades, and that he killed himself on-campus.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.... a lot of slasher films start this way. I think like 10 years have to pass before his revenant starts murdering camp counselors.

It's like Amity Island in Jaws. You can't blame the Mayor for the shark being there... but the shark(s) IS there, and the Mayor is basically ringing the dinner bell for him every summer.

While he hasn't come out and named the camp directly yet, it appears that US Senator Scott Brown was molested at Camp Good News. It seems that Charles DeVita may not have attacked Brown, meaning that more than one child molester was operating out of CGN. We'll call Brown's attacker "Chester 1."

Charles Devita is was Chester 2, and he ended up eating a bullet.

There seems to be more action upcoming. Attorney Mitchell Garabedian says he has a few more people who have approached him about being attacked at CGN. These attacks went down in the 1980s, and the attacker was not DeVita in all cases. That gives us Chesters 3 and 4.

Granted, Brown and the two more recent molestees to come forth may have been attacked by the same Chester, which would lower us to 2 Chesters. It gets confusing, I know... but just remember that there were multiple Chesters, and we'll work together just fine.

Chesters 1-4 span a period from 1980 or so through DeVita's timely (he was being investigated for child molestation) Winchester Whammy. That's a 30 year Michael Jackson Marathon. We even had people who attended the camp speaking about some pretty strange shenanigans in the comments section of previous CGN articles.

Different people were in charge of CGN during the many incidents there. At least two people who were running CGN whiffed on spotting DeVita as a beast. That's what we call a failure of the Double S... screening and supervision.

I don't know what's going on there. I haven't even researched it that much. What I do know is that whatever screening process they use for counselors failed catastrophically... at least twice, and maybe more than 4 times. I know that for X amount of years, molesters were able to attack children there without intervention.

I went to camps a few times as a kid. We did some canoes, some fishing, some sailing, some swimming... it was a lot of fun. No one attacked me. I'm not here to speak against camps in general. However, this camp is twisted, and it needs to be changed.

I don't know how to fix the problem. New management may not be forthcoming, as I can't imagine any but the worst parents knowingly sending their kids off to Camp Sodomized. If I owned that camp, I'd be contacting contractors about bulldozing it for a lakefront cul-de-sac. Even in this rotten economy, you can sell waterfront.

Is there a way for them to suspend this camp's right to operate until parents can be sure that their kids will be safe?

Yes.

After I wrote this story, the ACA (American Camp Association) stripped CGN of their right to operate pending an investigation into the multiple (it was 4 attacks yesterday, up to 6 now, 5 men and one woman, 3 of them attacked by Devita) charges of child molestation stemming from this viper's nest.

That shuts down CGN for this summer, anyhow.
