Well,well, well, isn't that quite a coincidence that suddenly only these two Holy Fathers, John Paul II and St? Josemaria Escriva have cardinals `petitioning` for them to the Vatican to have a fast-track canonization while no other saints ever have such letters written for them, not even Mother Teresa who lived and worked for the dying in the streets of Calcutta(Kolkata) who deserves sainthood more than these two wealthy men who never dirtied their hands for the poor but lived in the lap of luxury in the Vatican Palace and Villa in Rome. The beatification of John Paul II will have a 3-days festivities in Rome exactly like it was for the beatification and canonization of the Opus Dei founder Josemaria Escriva. But there is something very troubling about this `petition` business that has replaced the Devil`s Advocate office which John Paul II abolished in order to have his saint-factory mass production at the Vatican so that he could beatify and canonize more than 1,500 dead people during his 27 years papacy. John Paul II was so engrossed with the dead saints or the unborn babies (in his fight against abortion) that he did not have time for the hundreds of thousands of living children -- 12,000 children in the USA alone, not counting those of Ireland and across Europe and around the world who were sodomized by his John Paul II Pedophiles Rapists-Priests Army. 21. Although 1,300 bishops and cardinals from all over the world had written to the Vatican giving positive statements on the Opus Dei founder, only 128 of them had actually met him in person.
22. According to [Woodward's] research, Opus Dei members allegedly have put hundreds of bishops under financial pressure in order to have them send positive reports about Escriva to the Vatican. Especially in the Third World, bishops were allegedly told that financial contributions from Opus Dei might be in jeopardy if they did not answer the request for positive testimony.
17. Officials of the Vatican's Congregation for the Causes of Saints not only gave the cause top priority but, as the official positio on Escriva shows, they also bent rules to exclude damaging evidence about Escriva's character and commitment to the church.
20. 40% of the testimony came from just two men, (Alvaro) Portillo (deceased Opus Dei prelate and Escriva's successor) and his assistant Father Javier Echevarria, (current Opus Dei prelate).
23. The "devil's advocate" that had been part of the canonization process before 1983 was replaced by a "relator"; thus the door was open for the rapid canonization of Escriva. (Note that the current Opus Dei prelate at the time, Portillo, was part of the committee that eliminated the devil's advocate.) In the past, it was the job of the devil's advocate to ask "why shouldn't this person be canonized?"

Italian Cardinal Camillio Ruini has told journalists that he was given a signed petition at the conclave that elected Pope Benedict to push for fast-track sainthood for the recently deceased Pope John Paul II.

“The beatification was asked for inside the conclave.” The scoop arrives from an Italian news agency just four days before the solemn ceremony in which Benedict XVI will become the first Pope in 11 centuries to proclaim “blessed” his immediate predecessor.
Cardinal Ruini told AGI news wire how a large group of Cardinals had signed a petition calling on the next pope, still not yet elected, to waive the standing five-year minimum wait for the process of beatification to begin in the case of John Paul.
“Entering the conclave, a letter was given to me signed by many Cardinals who joined in the popular request (heard after John Paul’s death) to begin the process for sainthood right away,” said Ruini, who also served at the time as Vicar of Rome. “The letter was given to me because the Cardinals didn’t know who would be elected in the conclave.”
