Elmira, NY -- The Catholic Diocese of Rochester says a sexual abuse allegation of a former Elmira priest is credible.
Reverend Vincent Panepinto has been placed on administrative leave.
The Catholic Diocese of Rochester says he can no longer practice his priestly duties in public.
The allegation of sexual abuse of a minor dated back to the 1960s.
Panepinto served at St. Anthony's in Elmira.
He was ordained as a priest in 1967.
He served most recently as a sacramental minister at a church in Rochester.
Calls to St. Anthony's were not immediately returned.
