Former Philadelphia DA Lynne Abraham Hints at Run for Statewide Office CBS Philly March 25, 2011 http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2011/03/24/former-philadelphia-da-lynne-abraham-hints-at-run-for-statewide-office/
Former Philadelphia district attorney Lynne Abraham, who left office more than a year ago, is hinting she might be interested in a return to public service. Abraham, the first female DA in Philadelphia history, served in that office from 1991 until January 2010. Retired now from public life for a little more than a year, Abraham is now working in private practice for a Philadelphia law firm. She appeared Thursday at a volunteer recognition luncheon for the Klein Jewish Community Center, in the Northeast, and says she is proud of her accomplishments. “I have enjoyed my time there very, very much. I enjoyed the trust of the people, which I still think I enjoy, and going off in a different direction,” she told KYW Newsradio. And, that direction, she hints, might be a run for office — perhaps Pennsylvania attorney general. “I wouldn’t turn it down if it came to me,” she told KYW’s Mark Abrams. (Abrams:) “Has anybody talked to you about that?” (Abraham:) “Has anybody talked to me? Lots of people have talked to me, yeah. Lots of people.” (Abrams:) “Are you giving it some serious consideration?” (Abraham:) “I’m giving it serious consideration.” |
