The Rev. Philip R. Barr
Ordained in 1948, Barr is pastor emeritus of St. Edmond Parish in South Philadelphia.
The Rev. John F. Bowe
Ordained in 1973, Bowe had been living at St. Joseph rectory in Warrington, Bucks County.
The Rev. George B. Cadwallader
Ordained in 1992, Cadwallader served as parochial vicar of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Richboro, where he was stationed in June 2009.
Previously, he spent 18 months as a special assistant priest in the archdiocese's Office for Clergy, filling in for priests who fell ill or died.
Cadwallader attended Cardinal Dougherty High School before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He was ordained in 1992.
The Rev. Paul A. Castellani
Ordained in 1996, Castellani served as pastor of St. Philomena Church in Lansdowne until his removal.
Parishioners at St. Philomena learned of their pastor's departure on the same day his Lenten message appeared in the parish bulletin and was posted on its website.
In a postscript, he added this thought: "Lord keep us from worrying about setbacks. Helps us see them not as stumbling blocks, but as stepping stones in our journey to you."
The Rev. Michael A. Chapman
Ordained in 1982, Chapman was living at Ascension of Our Lord rectory in Philadelphia.
Msgr. John A. Close
A former rector at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Close, who was ordained in 1969, is perhaps the most prominent priest to have abuse allegations made against him.
At St. Katharine of Siena Parish in Wayne, parents of parish schoolchildren learned in an e-mail Wednesday that their pastor, Close, had been placed on leave.
Msgr. Francis Feret
Feret, ordained nearly a half-century ago, serves at St. Adalbert Church in Philadelphia's Port Richmond section.
Records indicate that he had been assigned to St. Adalbert for perhaps the last 15 years and previously was pastor at St. Peter Parish in Pottstown.
The Rev. Mark E. Fernandes
Of the 21 men placed on leave, the one newest to the priesthood was Fernandes, who received his divinity degree in 2004.
Fernandes was assigned to St. Agnes Church in Sellersville, Bucks County.
Msgr. Michael Flood
Flood was named in 2009 as an alleged sexual abuser in a lawsuit filed in Delaware County.
The suit asserted that Flood, now the pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Glenside, Montgomery County, had sexually abused a student at St. John Neumann High School in Philadelphia when the priest taught there in the late 1970s.
When the suit was filed, the archdiocese said that Flood denied abusing the student.
The archdiocese said it could not independently investigate the allegations because the lawsuit never revealed the name of the accuser.
Floor agreed to refrain from unsupervised ministry to youths.
The Rev. Mark S. Gaspar
Ordained in 1998, he was assigned to Our Lady of Charity Church in Brookhaven, Delaware County.
About a decade ago, he was assigned to St. Joseph Church in Collingdale, Delaware County.
The Rev. Joseph M. Glatts
Glatts, ordained in 1966, is pastor emeritus of St. Andrew Church in Drexel Hill, Delaware County.
Before his assignment to St. Andrew, Glatts served as a chaplain in the Air Force.
The Rev. Steven Harris
Harris, 56, was ordained in 1980. Besides working as chancellor for the archdiocese, he has taught at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, Delaware County, and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Harris served as pastor at St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Mount Airy and St. Louis in Yeadon before taking the same post at St. Isaac Jogues.
The Rev. Daniel J. Hoy
Hoy, ordained in 1948, was most recently in residence for at least three years at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Strafford, according to church bulletins archived online.
Msgr. Joseph Logrip
After serving as a high school chaplain and parish pastor, Logrip, ordained in 1972, rose in the archdiocesan hierarchy and most recently served as regional vicar for North Philadelphia and pastor of Mother of Divine Grace Parish.
Last year, the archdiocese announced he would take over as pastor of Mary, Mother of Redeemer in North Wales, but he never arrived, according to a receptionist there. Most recently, Logrip had lived at St. Stanislaus in South Philadelphia.
He was mentioned in the 2005 grand jury report as the pastor of a Levittown parish where diocesan officials assigned a known abuser in the 1990s.
Logrip was also mentioned in a civil lawsuit filed last month by a man who claimed to have been sexually abused by a priest when he attended St. Aloysius Academy in Bryn Mawr in the early 1990s. Logrip is not a defendant in the case, but the suit says Logrip knew of the attack but did nothing.
The Rev. Andrew McCormick
McCormick, 54, ordained in 1982, has been pastor at Sacred Heart in Swedesburg for six years. He previously served in St. Adalbert's and St. John Cantius, both in Northeast Philadelphia, and St. Bede in Holland, Bucks County.
The Rev. Zachary Navit
Navit, 43, most recently served as director of the Offices of Closures and Special Projects. In the latter post, he served as liaison between parishes and the archdiocese, coordinating events such as pilgrimages. He also worked as a part-time parochial vicar in Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Buckingham.
He was ordained in 1994. He served as a parochial vicar in various parishes before rising to the position of pastor of St. Francis de Sales and Most Blessed Sacrament parishes - both in West Philadelphia - in 2004.
The Rev. Leonard Peterson
Peterson, 66 - most recently pastor at St. Maria Goretti Parish in Hatfield - spent much of his career at Catholic schools in the Philadelphia area.
Peterson, ordained in 1976, was named chaplain of the Newman Center at West Chester University in 1986 and previously worked as a religious and English teacher for 11 years at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, Delaware County. He has also served as chaplain at Archbishop Ryan High School and a religion instructor at Lansdale Catholic High School.
The Rev. Robert Povish
A state employee, Povish, 46, served as a chaplain to inmates at the Graterford Prison in Skippack.
He was also stationed at St. Eleanor Parish in Collegeville.
Povish, ordained 21 years ago, was seen at the prison as recently as Wednesday afternoon.
He has previously been stationed at St. Anne's Church in Phoenixville and St. Eugene's Church in Primos among other postings
The Rev. John Reardon
Reardon, 64, ordained in 1973, had most recently worked as pastor in St. John of the Cross Parish in Roslyn.
The Rev. Thomas Rooney
Rooney, ordained in 1991, had worked as a chaplain at the Immaculate Mary Home, a Catholic nursing facility for the elderly in Northeast Philadelphia.
He was also stationed in Philadelphia's St. Timothy Parish.
Prior to this posting, he worked as a parochial vicar in St. Christopher Parish in Northeast Philadelphia and as part of the faculty of Conwell-Egan High School in Fairless Hills.
The Rev. Peter Talocci
Talocci, ordained in 1986, had most recently served as parochial vicar at St. Patrick's in Malvern. His previous assignments were unclear.
On Wednesday the parish website removed all mentions of him, though he's listed on the church bulletin from last weekend.
