[Philadelphia Grand Jury Report]

A priest from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia accused of sexually molesting a child has ties to Delaware.

Father Charles Engelhardt is charged with raping a 10-year-old boy at St. Jerome's Parish in Philadelphia from 1998 and 1999.

From there, Kevin Nadolski, Communications Director of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales says Engelhardt was transferred to Mater Dolorosa in Philadelphia, before finally landing at St. Anthony of Padua in Wilmington in 2005.

Engelhardt remained at St. Anthony's until 2007.

He doesn't face any charges in connection with sexual assaults at any churches in Delaware, but St. Anthony's Pastor Father John McGinley announced the charges to parishioners at weekend masses.

If convicted, Engelhardt faces more than six decades behind bars.

This is the same grand jury indictment that names Archbishop Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua's top aide Monsignor William Lynn.

Lynn is accused of sending accused pedophile priests like Engelhardt to unsuspecting parishes.

This is believed to be the first time a high-ranking Catholic official has been accused of being criminally accountable for covering up priest abuse.
